STOP MAKING IT BIGGER THAN IT IS

The moment you label something as the "big game," the "finals," or the "most important performance of your career," you've already made your job harder. The game doesn't know it's a big game. The ball doesn't know. The court doesn't know. Your muscles don’t know. Only you do, and that story you're telling yourself is the only thing that changes.

But ask yourself this:

What actually changes between game one and the championship? The preparation is the same. The skills are the same. The game is the same. The only variable is the meaning you assign to the moment. And meaning is a choice.
